The Conference for Budding Leaders was established in 2019 to empower and equip 9th-grade males of color in the Kern High School District with essential leadership skills, academic strategies, and personal development tools. Recognizing the importance of early mentorship and support, this conference serves as a foundational experience that fosters confidence, goal-setting, and a strong sense of community.
Since its inception, the conference has provided students with access to interactive workshops, inspiring speakers, and hands-on activities designed to cultivate leadership, resilience, and academic success. Over the years, it has played a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of leaders, ensuring that young men of color have the guidance and resources needed to excel in high school, college, and beyond.
