Through our network on campus, we work with academic advisors to assist our students in making decisive, well-informed schedules to stay on track with graduation, even if students are undecided about their major or chosen career field.
The Excel Scholars program provides an additional layer of academic support through tutoring and supplemental academic programs that provide direct accountability to all students who participate in the program.

Academic Success Workshops include topics such as exploring campus resources, academic success, and career preparation. Working collaboratively with campus partners, student success workshops serve as a space for students to build skills for academic success.
Each fall, the Excel Scholar students attend the Guaranteed 4.0 Learning Systems Workshop, featuring Dr. Donna O. Johnson Mackey. This workshop provides students with a personalized experience led by Dr. Mackey, covering proven strategies to achieve a guaranteed 4.00. Through interactive sessions, students gain valuable insights into effective study techniques, time management, and work habits that enhance their academic performance. The workshop empowers students to develop the skills and confidence necessary to excel in their coursework and apply these strategies beyond the classroom, fostering lifelong success.
