Incoming First Time, First Year Advising

Greetings Future Roadrunners,

We are excited you will be joining CSUB in Spring 2024!  We are committed to meeting all your advising needs and assisting you through the registration process. Registration for incoming First Time, First Year students begins November 13th. We will also begin advising on that date. We will have both in-person and virtual advising appointments over Zoom.

Scheduling Your 1 hour Advising Appointment

You will receive an email from our office with a link to schedule an advising appointment. Please check both your CSUB and personal email addresses for advising updates.

Access your CSUB

Please click on the following link: https://www.csub.edu/current-students and find Office 365 under Quick Links. You can log into your CSUB email the same way you log into your MyCSUB account. Your login for MyCSUB, your CSUB email address, and your Canvas accounts are all the same information. You use the same NetID and the same password.

 Zoom Advising Appointments

Prior to your scheduled appointment, you will receive an email with a link to your Zoom Appointment. After your appointment, you will receive an e-mail with your personalized academic outline discussed during your appointment. It is best if you use a computer for your appointment because we can share our screen with you.

Instructions on how to use zoom can be found here: https://csub.zoom.us/ then click on "How to Sign In" for step-by-step instructions.  If you are accessing zoom for the first time on your computer, you will need to install the software. If you do not have a computer you can download the app for both iOS  and Android. They are both free to download and have all the features of the web app. If you encounter any difficulties, please contact the HelpDesk at (661) 654-4357. We suggest that you have this all working  prior to your appointment or you will need to re-schedule your appointment.

To-Do List Prior to Advising and Registration

Please be sure to submit your final official transcripts for ALL dual enrollment (college courses) you have already taken as well as AP test scores.
