Academic Requirements
Students who are eligible are sent an invitation with the application.
Eligibility
- Incoming Freshmen: High school Weighted GPA of 3.70 or above.
- Transfer and continuing CSUB Native students: Must have a Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above
- Our application to the program consists of 4 short essay questions, and students are required to complete 2 of the essays
- Honors Council members review each application and a joint decision is made.

Honors Individual Project (HIP)
Each Helen Hawk Honors Program student completes an Honors Individual Project (HIP). This project is a chance to gain unique experiences outside the traditional classroom setting and serves as a valuable transition from undergraduate studies to advanced study in the discipline or directly into a career.
