Runner Ride is a free bike share program available to all CSUB students and employees with a valid CSUB ID. Bring your ID into the SRC and check out a bike for the day.  Helmet, u-lock, and lights are included in the rental. Use our bike to get to class or grab a bite to eat off campus. Don’t lose your parking spot, come check out a bike today!

What is a bike share program?

The Runner Ride Program provides bike availability to users on a daily basis. This program is ideal for short distance trips around CSUB and the community.

How can I check out a bike?

  • Go to the SRC front desk.
  • Sign the User Agreement and CSUB Student Recreation Center Waiver form.
  • Unlock and start biking!

When do I need to return bikes and equipment?

Check in and return times vary depending on the day of the week, and SRC Open Hours. Bikes must be returned an hour before the SRC closes. For regular semester hours, see table below:

What kind of bikes will I be riding?

Runner Ride is comprised of 30 single speed, cruiser bikes.

What happens if a bike is not returned or extremely damaged upon return?

Users will incur a $10 late fee per day for unreturned equipment.

Highly damaged equipment will result in additional charges based on labor adn parts costs, to be determined on a case by case basis.

How do I check in a bike?

  • Lock up your bike at the designated Runner Ride bike rack.
  • Return any equipment and key to Member Services desk.
  • Report any issues with the bike and go on your way!

What if my bike and/or key gets lost or stolen?

Immediately call and report a lost or stolen bike and/or key to the SRC (661) 654-4386 and to University Police (661) 654-2677


Does your bike need maintenance?

The CSUB Runner Ride is now offering Bicycle Maintenance opportunities to campus, including clinics, Tech Tuesday, and retail supplies and parts. Check out the Bicycle Maintenance page for more information.
