Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI) Faculty Fellow
The Puedes! grant team and the Division of Equity, Inclusion, and Compliance are partnering to analyze CSUB’s mission, vision, values, strategic plan, and committee/departmental missions and recommend changes to codify our commitment to being a Hispanic-Serving Institution by appointing a full-time faculty member to the position of HSI Faculty Fellow during AY 2023-24. Dr. Joseph Florez, Assistant Professor of Religious Studies, has been selected as the HSI Faculty Fellow for AY 2023-24.

Institue for Literacy & Community Engagement
The Institue for Literacy & Community Engagement implements langauge literacy, increase
outreach, and communication to students, parents, and other community members. Institue
for Literacy & Community Engagement collaborates with many resourceful departments
on campus to develop and offer guidance, necessary campus materials, work-study, internships,
and service learning opportunites. These resources along with utilizing their linguistics
and cultural skills will prepare CSUB students for careers.
