The 2025-2026 Hispanic Excellence Scholarship Fund (HESF) scholarship application is now open on the CSUB Financial Aid website for students who are accepted and planning to attend CSUB in fall 2025. Receive up to a $2,000 scholarship award as this award may be matched by the CSUB President's Matching fund for an additional $1,000!

Applications are due no later than May 30, 2025.

Eligibility Requirements

Any student, regardless of race or ethnicity, may apply, but must:

• Be a United States citizen; a legal permanent resident (with permanent resident card); or admitted to CSUB under the California Dream Act (AB 540 and AB 2000)
• Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better (on a 4.0 scale)
• Be accepted to attend CSUB in fall 2025 for the academic year 2025-26 (preference is given to incoming freshmen / high school seniors or community college transfers)

Note: in addition to high academic achievement, special attention is given to students with economic need and who are first in their family to attend college.
