Dialogues Across Difference in Action: Campus Microgrants for Religious Literacy and Interfaith Engagement

This two-year, CSU-wide initiative is funded by the Arthur Vining Davis Foundations to support student- and faculty-led projects that advance religious literacy, interfaith understanding, bridgebuilding and pluralism.

About the Project

At the core of the project is a microgrant program that will award twenty student- and faculty-led proposals over two years. Each microgrant—up to $5,000—will support activities such as CSU campus bridgebuilding dialogues, panel discussions, film screenings, storytelling exercises, community collaborations, or other creative projects that illuminate both the challenges and richness of engaging worldview diversity and pluralism, tailored to the needs and uniqueness of each campus and their surrounding communities.

This website contains application information, announcements, and project resources for long-term knowledge sharing and community development.

Highlights:

  • Up to 20 microgrants over two years.
  • Awards of up to $5,000.
  • Approximately 10 projects funded each year.
  • Online interfaith leadership certification for CSU faculty and students.
  • CSU-wide virtual symposium.
  • A shared digital repository and resource toolkit for ongoing project development.

Project Objectives:

  • Strengthen campus support for interfaith engagement.
  • Develop student and faculty interfaith leadership.
  • Build a sustainable CSU-wide community of practice.
  • Cultivate a living repository and toolkit project examples, readings, and case studies for ongoing development.
