Bias Incident Response Protocols
Members of the CSU Bakersfield community have a right to work, live, and learn in an environment free from unlawful discrimination based on a protected status. CSU Bakersfield is committed to maintaining an environment where no student, employee, visitor, or recipient of services and/or benefits provided by CSU Bakersfield shall be subjected to any form of prohibited discrimination in any CSUB program or activity.
Along with campus administrators, we consider the diversity of its students, staff, and faculty to be of vital importance to its educational mission and welcomes contributions from individuals of all ethnicities, genders, gender identities, gender expressions, sexual orientations, social classes, dis/abilities, ages, documentation statuses, religious affiliations, beliefs, backgrounds, and national origins. We are committed to fostering a safe & productive learning and working environment.
We have identified various avenues for reporting bias and hate. These avenues should be collated into a centralized webpage and promoted and shared as part of this action plan:
- Off-campus confidential resources include Alliance Against Family Violence and Sexual Assault.
The University Police will not enter into agreements with state or local law enforcement agencies, ICE, or any other federal agency for the enforcement of federal immigration law, except as consistent with California Government Code §§7282 et seq. or as required by law. The University Police Department does not independently conduct sweeps or other concentrated efforts to detain suspected undocumented immigrants.
