AANHPI Leadership Conference

The AANHPI Leadership Conference helps local high school students become stronger leaders in their schools, families, and communities; inspire them to foster more inclusive and equitable environments; and empower them to embrace their authentic identities while pursuing their educational and leadership aspirations. This is done with a focus on Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander experiences.

The 2027 AANHPI Leadership Conference will be taking place on Friday, March 5, 2027 from 9:00AM to 3:00PM.

Registration is open for the 2027 AANHPI Leadership Conference! This conference is open to all high school students in Kern County. Due to space, the first 85 students registered will be guaranteed attendance.

Due to space, only invited organizations will attend this event. If you would like to be invited, please reach out to the AANHPI Student Achievement Program via email at aanhpisap@csub.edu .
Outside of our registration form, please reach out to your high school staff. They will provide any needed paperwork and photo release forms needed.
Any high school student in Kern County can participate! This Conference has an AANHPI-specific cultural lens but we encourage any student to be a part of this event and connect.

2026 Conference

On April 10, 2026, CSUB's AANHPI Student Achievement Program launched its inaugural AANHPI Leadership Conference. Over 70 high school students in the local community were welcomed to learn about students' leadership journeys, speak about their own journeys, and find opportunities at the university.

Previous Conference Questions

The following workshops were provided for students:
  • Student-Led Workshops - Current student leaders from the AANHPI Student Achievement Program Peer Mentoring Program, or ASAP Peer Mentoring Program, spoke about their experience at CSUB and growing within their leadership.
  • Community-Led Workshop - The Filipino National Historical Society Delano Chapter, known as FANHS Delano, hosted a workshop focused on students finding their motivation in leadership, using their "why" to map out their leadership future.
  • CSUB Outreach - Our outreach team presented on CSUB and the opportunities available to them at the institution.
