Alert: COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

A Selective Honors Experience for CSUB’s Top Students

NOTICE:  Effective immediately and until further notice, the Helen Hawk Honors offices will no longer be open for walk-in visits because of the national COVID-19 emergency. We have migrated to a virtual office and all voicemail and email will be reviewed regularly, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.

Advising appointments will be held via Zoom, email or phone.  Please call or email for an appointment, or to reschedule.

We commit to continue serving the campus and community via remote alternatives, and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience as we serve to protect the health of our students, staff and faculty during this time.

Dear Honors Graduates,

Per the California State University Chancellor’s Office directive, CSU Bakersfield and the CSUB Antelope Valley Campus were directed to shift to accelerated virtual instruction and social distancing beginning March 18th. As you all may know, CSU Bakersfield and Kern County have declared a state of emergency. In this notice, all on-campus functions have been postponed until further notice, this includes our Honors awards ceremony. Our ceremony was initially scheduled for Sunday, May 3rd, but has now been postposned until further notice. We assure that you will receive your graduation regalia and hope to recognize your accomplishments at a ceremony once we are allowed to do so. We ask for your cooperation as we all work together to keep ourselves and our community safe.
