Welcome to CAMP!

Since 2000, the CSUB College Assistance Migrant Program has been funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Migrant Education to provide services in the Southern San Joaquin Valley.

CAMP’s mission is to help students succeed. CAMP staff possess professional experience in the field of education and are well versed on the academic needs of the identified migrant student. The key is to provide a safety net for migrant students to ensure their success at CSU Bakersfield.

The program is focused on addressing the educational and social transition issues of first generation migrant college students. CAMP provides student support services in the areas of: 

  •     Participation in the summer program

  •     Individual academic advising

  •     Scholarship and internship workshops

  •     Obtaining financial assistance

  •     Gaining skills in leadership development

  •     Utilizing campus student support services

 All of the program services are designed to enhance the opportunity for migrant and seasonal farm worker students to succeed in their pursuit of a higher education.
