Interns

The Grimm Family Center for Agricultural Business at California State University, Bakersfield provides students with multiple prospects for internships or job opportunities within the center or at the Kern County Farm Bureau. Through this program, students will learn more about an industry that impacts our county and the world, while also learning crucial skills that will enhance their professional careers. Shantal Sanchez Almanza

Shantal Sanchez, a first-time freshman at California State University, Bakersfield, is pursuing a Pre-Health major with aspirations to enter the Nursing program and earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Her ultimate goal is to become a labor and delivery travel nurse, driven by her passion for supporting mothers and their babies during one of life’s most significant moments. Sanchez is dedicated to her academic journey while also enjoying reading, running, going on walks, visiting the beach, watching movies, enjoying nature, sipping matcha, and exploring photography in her free time.

Ravneet Kaur

Ravneet Kaur grew up in Bakersfield and has strong ties to the community and its agricultural roots. She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Business Administration. As a first-generation college student, she aspires to enter the field of Human Resource Management while also leveraging her MBA to lead others in building their enterprises from the foundation up and bringing their visions to fruition. In her free time, Kaur enjoys watching films and spending time in nature.

Simranjeet Kaur

Simranjeet Kaur is first-generation, international student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Economics with a concentration in Finance. Currently, Kaur is honing her technical skills by learning SQL and Power BI to enhance proficiency in data analytics while preparing for the CFA Level I Exam. Kaur has a keen interest in data analytics and financial modeling. Upon graduation, Kaur aspires to contribute to these fields before eventually transitioning to investment banking. Kaur started interning for the Grimm Family Center for Agricultural Business to assist the Executive Director with collecting and analyzing data as it relates to the local agriculture industry. In Fall 2024, Kaur was honored to be inducted into Alpha Chi for academic excellence, and enjoys spending quality time with her family or connecting with nature during her free time.

Crystal Gallegos

Crystal
Crystal Gallegos started interning at the Grimm Family Center for Agricultural Business halfway through her freshman year at California State University, Bakersfield. Gallegos is an undergraduate student studying Electrical Engineering and aspires to enter the field of Power and Energy. Gallegos has been heavily involved on campus and currently holds the position of Secretary for the club Society of Women Engineers. A fun fact about Gallegos is that she has a collection of marbles that she has been acquiring since the fourth grade.

Erin Pruitt

Erin Pruitt started interning at the Grimm Family center for Agricultural Business during the first semester of her graduate studies at California State University, Bakersfield. Pruitt is a first-generation graduate student pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration and aspires to work in the field of Communications and Agriculture upon the completion of her degree. In her free time, Pruitt enjoys cooking, baking, traveling, playing with her dogs, and hosting dinners for her family and friends when she is not on campus, or focusing on her studies.

Bella Ramirez

B

Bella Ramirez, a freshman at California State University, Bakersfield, is studying Psychology with a minor in Theology. She is pursuing a career as a Christian school counselor, with a heart for supporting students in both their personal and spiritual growth. Bella is also actively involved in her sorority, Phi Sigma Sigma, leads small groups for young adult women at her church, and annually goes on mission trips to Uganda. In her free time, she enjoys baking, traveling, flower arranging, reading, and spending time with God.
