Geology Alum Gives CRC Energy Transition Lecture
On November 19, CSUB Geology alumnus and Rising Runner Award winner, Dr. Greg Gordon, gave a talk in the 2025 California Resources Corporation Energy Transition Lecture Series, presented by the CSUB California Energy Research Center, and hosted by the CSUB Department of Geological Sciences and the Pacific Coast Section of the Society for Exploration Geophysicists. His talk, "Paleogeographic, Tectonic, and Depositional Controls on Turbidite Extent and Reservoir Quality: Examples from California" was attended by a packed audience of over 80 people at CSUB.
Dr. Gordon is a Geological Advisor at Carbon TerraVault Energy Transition Solutions, California Resources Corporation, and this fall is teaching CSUB Geology's course in Petroleum Exploration.
