Alumni Scholarships

Scholarship Recipient Maria Silva
Scholarship Recipient Maria Silva

The CSUB Alumni Association awards scholarships to CSUB graduates pursuing their graduate degrees on campus. The Alumni Scholarship Endowment was established in 1990 with a gift of $5,000 and is now valued at more than $220,000.

The 2021-2022 academic year was record-breaking. The Alumni Association awarded $25,000 in scholarships, the most it has ever given out in a single year and double what it gave the year before.

In 2024, the Alumni Association Board voted to contribute $50,000 to the scholarship endowment. This is one of the largest contributions the Alumni Association Board has made toward its endowment - thanks to the generous community partners who support our programs. Four scholarship recipients were awarded a collective amount of $8,000 to pursue their graduate school dreams.

2024-2025 Scholarship Recipient Fernando Hernandez Cortez

The California State University, Bakersfield Alumni Association recently awarded more than $8,000 in scholarships to four alumni who will be pursuing their graduate degrees on campus during the 2024-25 academic year.

Funding for the awards came from the Alumni Scholarship Endowment, established in 1990, and proceeds from fundraisers such as the CSUB Alumni Hall of Fame awards ceremony.

Our recipients include future teachers, counselors and more. We asked them to share, in their own words, a little more about their career plans and how the scholarship money will help them achieve their dreams.
