Proposals for Courses

Please note that curricular review may vary slightly by School and each should be consulted accordingly. Below are steps for proposing a new course, revising a course or canceling a course.

PROPOSALS FOR NEW, REVISED, OR CANCELED COURSES

  1. Proposals for new courses are developed by faculty and then submitted to the department chair on a Course Proposal Form found on the Academic Operations_Catalog and Curriculum webpage  Instructions for completing the course proposal form can also be found on the Academic Operations website.
  2. Department chair reviews and forwards the proposal to the department curriculum committee for review and recommendation, and then forwards the proposal, with a recommendation, to the School Dean.
  3. School Dean forwards the proposal to the school curriculum committee.
  4. School curriculum committee reviews the course proposal and forwards the proposal, with a recommendation, to the School Dean.
  5. School dean reviews the proposal and forwards the proposal, with a recommendation, to Director of Academic Operations.

Curricular review must be completed by mid-December in the year prior to the next academic year catalog.  Please review the Important Dates and Deadlines for Catalog and Curriculum on the Academic Operations website.
