Current Projects
Along with CSUB colleagues Dr. Juterh Nmah (Counseling Education), Dr. Sarana Roberts (Special Education) and Dr. Tracey Salisbury (Ethnic Studies), Dr. Dugan is in the data collection stage of in-depth interview project exploring the academic and extracurricular experiences of Black/African American students attending a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI). In addition, Dr. Dugan is in the beginning stages of writing an intersectionality-based autoethnography analyzing her interactions with neighbors since becoming dog owner in the past year.

Dr. Henderson earned his Ph.D. at Stony Brook University where he studied environmental sociology, global inequality, and quantitative methods.
Teaching
He teaches SOC 4008 Society and the Natural Environment, SOC 4020 Globalization and Social Change, SOC 4988 Senior Seminar, and SOC 4200 Quantitative Analysis. His students are frequently involved with CSUB’s Edible Garden.
Research
Dr. Henderson has published in several reputable, peer-reviewed journals including International Journal of Sociology, Environmental Sociology, and Journal of World-Systems Research amongst others. His scholarship focuses on environmental and social issues at the international level such as climate change, deforestation, food production, and global inequality.
