University Counselor Training Clinic (UCTC)

About:

The CSUB University Counselor Training Clinic offers low-cost individual, couple, family and group counseling services to members of the Bakersfield community (not CSUB students).

Services are provided by advanced graduate student clinicians from CSUB. All counseling sessions are supervised by a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and are videotaped for training purposes.

 

 

 

 

The CSUB University Counselor Training Clinic offers counseling services related to:

  • Stress management
  • Career counseling
  • Coping strategies
  • Couple communications
  • Developmental transitions and issues
  • Life skills problems
  • Parenting concerns
  • Children and family issues
  • Problems of everyday life

 

 

 The Clinic does not offer services related to:

  • Acute crisis
  • Current serious or long-term psychiatric disabilities
  • Domestic violence, abuse and battering
  • Suicidal concerns
  • Drug and/or alcohol abuse

All counseling sessions are by appointment only.  To schedule an appointment, please call our voice mail at (661) 654-3402.  Leave your name and telephone number(s) where you can be reached.  The Clinic Manager will return your call as soon as possible.

CSUB Students

CSUB Student Services provides excellent free and confidential counseling for undergraduate and graduate students who are enrolled at the University. Current CSUB students should contact the University Counseling Center at 661.654.3366 for services.

The University Counselor Training Clinic does not receive funds from the state for its daily operations. The Clinic is funded by client fees and gifts from donors who see the benefit of having such a resource in our community.
