For 50 years, California State University, Bakersfield, has been a beacon of knowledge, promise and hope in the Southern San Joaquin Valley. We are a proud member of the California State University, the largest and most diverse network of higher education in our country.

The students who attend our university come to us with a diversity of experiences and backgrounds, but they all share a yearning to work for the future they have imagined for themselves and their families. CSUB's faculty and staff consider it an honor to support our students on their way to the tomorrows they envision.

Here at CSU Bakersfield, where the hopes and aspirations of an entire region are invested in the students who learn, dream and strive here, there is no boundary where the community ends and the university begins. We are rooted in place, with a powerful connection to the history, traditions and aspirations of our great Valley. With that knowledge, we endeavor to provide solutions and hope.

As the intellectual and academic hub of the Southern San Joaquin and Antelope valleys, we have the obligation and honor to serve and support the people in our communities we are proud to call partners, neighbors and friends. We work to enrich and uplift our communities through education, public service, outreach, engagement, research and leadership.

These are extraordinary times. As we face a world forever changed by a pandemic and divisions that threaten to lead us into despair, we will not shrink from the challenges. Our faculty and staff are working to bring light to dark times, as we prepare students today and in the generations to come to lead with vision, integrity and imagination.
