FALL ADMISSIONS ONLY
Applicants looking to attend the Traditional BSN Program will be required to apply a year in advance to see if they can get into the program. Application to the Traditional BSN Program consists of a 3-Step Process. The following information is the application filing and due dates for the FALL 2024 entry.

Step 1: Cal State Apply Application
Filing Period: October 1, 2023 to November 30, 2023
Current CSUB Students
Students currently enrolled at CSUB do not complete a CSU Apply Application as they are continuing students of the university.
Note: A returning student who has been absent from CSUB for at least 2 consecutive terms must complete a CSU Apply application within the filing periods of October 1st to November 30th.
Transfer Applicants
Apply for admission during the initial filing period of October 1st to November 30th through Cal State Apply for Fall 2024. This is required prior to submitting a supplemental nursing application (Step 2 application). Transfers must meet upper-division transfer requirements for university admissions. Students can find more information through the Transfer Resource Center.
Second Baccalaureate Applicants
Students seeking a potential second bachelor's degree must also complete a Cal State Apply application by the deadline of November 30th. On the application, please choose “Undergraduate” and “Seeking a Second Bachelor’s Degree” to locate the nursing major/program in CSU Apply.
Upon applying through Cal State Apply, Transfer Applicants and Second Baccalaureare Applicants must submit the following to the CSUB Office of Admissions and Records:
- Official Transcripts: Official transcripts from all colleges attended are required. The deadline to submit initial transcripts is February 10th and must show the Fall 2023 semester and Spring 2024 in progress
- Official Test Scores: Official test score verifying college credit (AP or IB credit if applicable)
- Other Requirements: Any necessary documentation or paperwork related to your academic records, residency, and/or requested items made by the Office of Admissions and Records

Step 2: NursingCAS Application
Filing Period: October 1, 2023 to January 15, 2024 (8:59 PM PST)
A supplemental BSN application is required for ALL applicants through NursingCAS (fee required). It is highly recommended that you begin your NursingCAS application earlier within the application period. Incomplete and late applications will not be accepted.
Complete the following application materials through NursingCAS:
- Select Traditional BSN (Pre-Licensure)
- Official Transcripts: Applicants are required to submit initial official transcripts from all colleges attended to NursingCAS (even if you are enrolled at CSUB). Fall 2023 grades must be posted prior to sending official transcripts. Official transcripts must be received in NursingCAS by January 27, 2024. In-progress courses can only be for the Spring 2024 semester.
- Pending Prerequisite Coursework: Prerequisites must be completed no later than the deadline of May 25, 2024. Official transcripts must be received in NursingCAS by May 25, 2024. Official transcripts to the CSUB Office of Admissions and Records must be received by July 15, 2024.
- Documents (if applicable): Official test score verifying college credit (AP or IB credits if applicable), verification letters/forms for an active or military veteran, licensed paid health care professional, and previous RN program enrollment.
- TEAS: Applicants must upload Page 1 of the ATI TEAS Individual Performance Profile as a document upload in NursingCAS. These are unofficial scores obtained from the student's ATI account. Please do not upload scores below 72%. Repeats are limited to the first 2 attempts. Due as a document upload in NursingCAS by the program application deadline.
- Interview: After submission of their supplemental nursing application, applicants must complete a virtual interview component. Applicants will be notified via email (email listed on their NursingCAS application) during the admissions period and will be provided a link to the assessment. CSUB Nursing Faculty will review answers to determine who will be conditionally accepted into the program.

Step 3: Traditional BSN Program Evaluation Fee
Due Date: January 27, 2024
A $30 (non-refundable) nursing application evaluation fee is required and must be mailed directly to the CSUB Department of Nursing. This is separate from the application fee required from NursingCAS.
Current CSUB students are exempt from this fee.

Official transcripts must be mailed if the services are not offered at your college or university. Download the Transcript Request Form in NursingCAS and submit it to your campus's Registrar to complete. Official transcripts must be issued from the Registrar/Admissions, not the applicant.
