DNP-FNP Frequently Asked Questions

How Much Does It Cost to Attend the Program?

Tuition is approximately $8094.00 per semester.  This tuition does not include other mandatory campus fees, clinical fees, books, uniform, equipment, etc.

Please note: This reflects applicable system-wide tuition and fees for both semester and quarter campuses. These rates are subject to change without notice.

How Frequently Are Students Admitted into the Program?

The CSUB Department of Nursing will admit students every fall semester.

Who Is Eligible to Apply for the DNP-FNP Program at CSUB?

This three-year, eight-semester, program is designed for registered nurses (RNs) who have a Bachelor of Science (BS) or Master of Science (MS) in Nursing, and who are not Family Nurse Practitioners and aspire to become doctorally prepared nurse practitioners.

I Graduated from A University Outside of the United States. Will My Degree Be Accepted by CSUB?

Applicants with nursing courses from a university outside of the U.S. must have a course-by-course evaluation completed by the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS).

Applicants with general education courses from university outside of the U.S. must have a completed course-by-course evaluation.

Please include all original foreign transcripts to the Office of Graduate Admissions upon submitting the Cal State Apply Application.

Nursing Coursework

  • CGFNS
    • Contact the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Programs (CGFNS) at (215) 349-8767 or www.cgfns.org.
    • Submit an official copy of this evaluation with your DNP-FNP Program application through NursingCAS.
Non-Nursing Coursework
  • Approved Evaluation Service
    • This can be done with a NACES approved organization such as SpanTran or WES.
      • Submit one to the CSUB Office of Graduate Admissions
      • Submit one along with your DNP-FNP Program application through NursingCAS
