Step 1: CSUB Application
Filing period: AUGUST 1, 2026 - april 1, 2027
- Apply to Cal State Apply
- Official transcripts (from non-CSUB schools) and other university requirements must be submitted and received in the Office of Admissions and Records in order for your university application to be reviewed and processed.
- Transfer Students and Post-Baccalaureate Students may visit the Admissions website for details on the University Application Process.
- Courses taken from a foreign university must have a course-by-course evaluation completed by an evaluations agency and sent to Admissions and Records and to NursingCAS. Please note: Foreign University evaluations may take months to complete.
- Electronic delivery is the recommended method of delivery. Verify with the institution if you can request electronic transcripts.
- When ordering transcripts, verify that CSUB is the intended recipient. If CSUB is not listed, use the following address below:

Step 2: DNP-FNP Program Application
filing period: OCTOBER 1, 2026 - APRIL 15, 2027 (8:59 PM PST)
- Apply to the DNP-FNP Program through NursingCAS.
- Note: In NursingCAS, search for
- School: California State University-Bakersfield
- Program: Select "DNP-FNP"
- Unofficial transcripts are required to be submitted to NursingCAS from applicants (including CSUB graduates). Transcripts must be uploaded in the Academic Records section.
- All applicants must ensure that grades through Fall 2026 are posted on your transcripts prior to sending to NursingCAS. Electronic transcripts may be submitted to NursingCAS, if your college/university offers the services through Parchment and National Student Clearinghouse. Visit Transcript Processing for more details.
- Courses taken from a foreign university must have a course-by-course evaluation complete by an evaluations agency to be sent to NursingCAS.
- Applicants with nursing courses from a foreign university must have a course-by-course evaluation completed by the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS). All evaluations (CGFNS and other approved evaluation services) and original foreign transcripts must be submitted with the application packet.
Step 3: Program Application Evaluation Fee
DUE DATE: April 22, 2027
A $50 (non-refundable) nursing application evaluation fee is required. Payments can be dropped off at the CSUB Nursing front office or mailed directly to the department. This fee is separate from the application fee required from Cal State Apply and NursingCAS.
For mailed money orders and checks, please make it out to "CSUB Department of Nursing."
