Essential Tips!

1. Clear Any Account Holds: Make sure that you frequently check your hold section on your myCSUB portal for any holds. Remember, any hold on your account will prevent you from registering for the upcoming term. If you have a hold and are unsure on what to do,  click on 'Details" for instructions on how to clear them! Please note, academic advisors cannot clear any holds other than an advising hold. 
   • Make sure to schedule an appointment with your advisor to clear an advising hold! 
2. Choose Back Up Classes: Because classes can fill up quickly, make sure to plan ahead and find some back up options! Having your back up options in your shopping cart ahead of time, will allow you to be prepared at the time of registration. 
3. Enrollment Appointment Reminder: Check your enrollment appointment far in advance and set a reminder on your phone, tablet, notebook, or whatever works for you! You will want to enroll in your courses as soon as you have access in order to maximize your chance of getting into the classes you want!

Can I Take Antelope Valley Courses?

As a main campus student, you cannot enroll in sections reserved for Antelope Valley students. The system will only allow you to enroll into course sections designated for Main Campus students so make sure that you check under the "Enrollment Requirements" section and select the appropriate section!

The Class I Want Has A Department Consent, How Do I Enroll?

If a course section has Department Consent, you cannot take it unless it is one of the following courses: 

• MATH 2120
• MATH 3120
• SCI 3010

 

For permission to add the courses above, please contact a liberal studies advisor at liberalstudies@csub.edu or join walk-ins!  Otherwise, you will need to find a different section to add!

What Classes Do I Need to Take for My Major?

When you first meet with your Liberal Studies Advisor, you will be provided with a copy of your program outline. Every registration period, you will want to ensure that you select courses that are listed on that program outline - otherwise, you may be taking classes that you don't need!
