used. A more detailed description of confidential & personal is provided in the CSUB Information Security Plan. Essentially what one needs to remember is that confidential & personal information
is any combination of any information that identifies and describes an individual,
including his or her name in conjunction with social security number, medical information
and financial account information. The loss or theft of this data is a breach of several
regulations under which the University operates and obligates the University to notify
the affected individuals, and may also result in fines to the University.
