The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) is committed to helping students succeed academically, personally, and professionally. EOP students have access to educational counseling, mentoring, workshops, campus resources, career preparation, financial aid guidance, and opportunities to build community.
Students are expected to remain engaged with EOP and use available campus resources throughout their academic journey.
EOP Services
EOP services are designed to support student access, retention, academic progress, and graduation.
- EOP mentoring and peer connections.
- EOP community-building events.

EOP New Student Agreement
All new EOP students must complete the EOP New Student Agreement and submit their Student Aid Index (SAI) or FAFSA/CADAA Submission Summary.
The SAI documentation is required to confirm income eligibility for EOP services and possible EOP grant consideration. Students should submit accurate information and respond to requests from the EOP Office in a timely manner.
By completing the agreement, students commit to:
- Staying connected with the EOP Office.
- Completing the required number of EOP contacts each academic year.
- Participating in EOP workshops, services, and activities.
- Applying for financial aid each year by the priority deadline.
- Enrolling in and completing at least 12 units each semester, unless an exception is approved by the EOP Director.
- Meeting with an EOP staff member if their GPA falls below 2.0 or they are placed on Academic Notice.
- Communicating with professors and meeting with their academic advisor.
- Checking their CSUB email and EOP Canvas Resource page regularly.
- Working toward personal, academic, and professional goals.
EOP Academic-Year Agreement Requirements
Students may complete more than the minimum contacts and take advantage of campus opportunities to learn, connect, grow, and make the most of your college experience. Student contacts must occur between August 1st and May 15th.

- Two one-on-one appointments with an EOP staff member.

Using Other Campus Events for EOP Credit
Students may request credit for attending an approved event outside of the EOP Office. Events must support the student’s academic, personal, or professional development and must be sponsored by CSUB or an approved campus partner.
Students should submit the Outside Event Participation Form within 10 business days of attending the event. EOP staff will review the submission and determine whether the event qualifies for credit.
Attendance at an event does not automatically guarantee EOP credit.
