BIOGRAPHY
Elizabeth Adams is a folklorist and Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs and Dean of Academic Programs for CSUB. She holds degrees in history, literature, and folklore. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles in Folklore and Mythology.
Prior to coming to CSUB in 2022, she worked for 24 years at California State University, Northridge where she served as Associate Vice President for Undergraduate Studies, Associate Vice President for Student Success, the Associate Dean of the College of Humanities and the Director of the Liberal Studies Program and taught for a number of departments and programs including Anthropology, Humanities, and Liberal Studies.
Originally from Georgia, her research interests include American regional identity, popular culture, genre fiction, material culture, and festival. She has published in history, higher education, and folkloristics including “All Those Mounds of Shrimp: Las Vegas Buffets Considered” (Western Folklore, 65).
