Employment/Recruitment General Information
CSUB Human Resources assists the University in the planning and completion of campus Staff and Management (MPP) recruitments; coordinates the recruitment process; and assists the hiring department throughout the selection/hiring process.
Job Posting/Processing Information
All job postings are available to campus employees through the campus E-mail system and the online CSUB Employment Site. All positions are open for a minimum of two weeks. All vacant staff positions, except for short-term positions, are posted in the Information Center located outside the Office of Human Resources and the online CSUB Employment Site.
Appointments
All job appointments are based on the applicant's ability and fitness for the position. Selections and appointments are determined by the procedures specified in CSUB's Policies and Procedures for the Recruitment, Selection and Appointment of Non-Academic and Administrative Employees. It is the University's established policy to select the best qualified applicant.

Employment Eligibility
It is the policy of California State University, Bakersfield to hire only United States citizens and aliens lawfully authorized to work in the United States. Federal law requires proof of identity and work eligibility before an applicant can be employed in the United States.
Prospective employees must be able to provide an original document or documents which establish identity and employment eligibility within 3 business days of the date employment begins. You will be provided with a list of acceptable documents at the time of employment.
In addition, State regulations requires that:
- all employees present a valid Social Security card in order to receive a paycheck. The name on the card must match exactly the name the employee is using.
- every employee sign the Oath of Allegiance prior to commencing the duties of his/her State employment, except legally employed non citizens. These individuals are required to sign the Declaration of Permission to Work.
