Transferring from a community college to CSUB Antelope Valley is a big step—and we're here to support you every step of the way. Whether you're completing an Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) or meeting CSUB admission requirements through other pathways, this page will guide you through the process, help you stay on track, and connect you with the resources you need to succeed.

Antelope Valley College

AVC students can transfer to CSU Bakersfield – Antelope Valley through pathways like the ADT. Complete your required courses at AVC and take the next step toward earning your bachelor’s degree at CSUB Antelope Valley.

Cerro Coso students can transfer to CSU Bakersfield - Antelope Valley by completing the right coursework, including through the ADT pathway. Get started on your degree at Cerro Coso and finish strong at CSUB Antelope Valley.

College of the Canyons students can transfer to CSU Bakersfield - Antelope Valley through pathways like the ADT. Start your journey at COC and continue your academic goals at CSUB Antelope Valley with a smooth transfer process.

Transfer Student: I Want to Apply

Transfer Student

Application Period: October 1st - November 30th for Fall admission or August 1st – 31st for Spring admissions. 

A $70 non-refundable application filing fee (or fee waiver) must be paid at the time of application submission. Application fee waivers allow you to apply to four CSU campuses.

When you apply for admission to CSUB through Cal State Apply you are automatically considered for an application fee waiver based on the information requested in the application.  Click here for more information on the CSU Fee Waiver.

AVC Transfer Day

CSUB AV Advisors regularly visit Antelope Valley College (AVC) to meet with prospective students. During these visits, they provide guidance on transfer requirements, academic programs, and the application process, helping students plan a smooth transition to CSUB.

Why CSUB?

Transfer Student: I've Applied

Thanks for submitting your application to CSU Bakersfield. Over the next few months, special attention will be given to reviewing each application. Your CSUB ID# will be sent to the email you provided on your application within 3 weeks of submitting your admissions application. Please note this is a mass email, it may end up in your spam folder. E-mail is our official means of communication, so it is important to check your email regularly.

There are a few steps you can take to make sure you have a smooth admissions experience:

  1. Activate your myCSUB portal using the CSUB ID# provided via email. 
  2. Check myCSUB portal regularly for updates to your admission status, and for any items noted on your "To Do" list. Send any official documents listed on your "To Do List" as initiated by the deadline. 
  3. Submit official transcripts with fall grades posted by February 17th for Fall admissions and September 30th for Spring admissions.
