Associated Students Inc., is a student government comprised of elected student leaders who are motivated to create the best experience for CSUB Students. They encourage shared governance, student advocacy, and collaboration.
ASI also sponsors campus activities to enrich the experience for students. ASI is the official seat of student governance for the campus; student leaders are elected every spring semester.
Below are the qualifications for holding a position within CSUB ASI;
- Maintaining an on-campus 2.5 GPA each term and not be on probation of any kind.
- Undergraduate students must earn 12 semester of credit per term while running for office or holding office.
- Graduate and credential students must earn 6 semester of credit per term while running for office or holding office.
- Undergraduate students are allowed to earn a maximum of 150 semester or 125% of the units required for a specific baccalaureate degree, whichever is greater. If holding over that number of units, they will no longer be eligible for major student government office.
- Graduate and credential students are allowed to earn a maximum of 50 semester or 167% of the units required for the graduate or current object, whichever is greater. If holding over that number of units, they will no longer be eligible for major student government office.
- Undergraduate candidates must have been enrolled on the campus and have completed 1 semester prior to the election, earning a total of 12 semester units during that year.
- Graduate and credential candidates must earn 6 semester units per term of continuous attendance as a new graduate or credential student to be eligible. If they earned a bachelor's degree or credential in the past 3 years from the same campus, they must have earned a total of 12 semester units during their last year as an undergraduate.
- To run for an executive office position, they must attend 2 Board of Directors meetings and 2 ASI committee meetings, or submitted no less than two professional letters of recommendation in addition to attending the Executive Officer Election seminar.
