A post-baccalaureate or graduate student holds a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution and wishes to continue their education for personal enrichment or meet professional needs via a certificate, credential, second bachelor's degree, master's degree, or doctoral degree.

California State University, Bakersfield (CSUB), is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC, formerly known as WASC).
Admission Eligibility Requirements for Graduate and Post-Baccalaureate Students
University Admission Requirements
- Completed a four-year college course of study and obtained an accepted baccalaureate degree from an institutionally accredited institution or shall have completed equivalent academic preparation as determined by appropriate campus authorities.
- Left in good academic standing at the last college or university attended
- Have attained a grade point average of at least 2.5 in an acceptable earned baccalaureate degree; or maintained a grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.5 (4.0 scale/ A = 4.0) in the last 60 semester (90 quarter) units attempted. Each graduate program may require a higher GPA and/or specific prerequisite courses.
- Met the professional, personal, scholastic, and other standards for graduate study, including qualifying examinations, as appropriate campus authorities may prescribe.
*The Office of Admissions completes a University Admissions Evaluation requiring at least one official transcript from all institutions attended. No admissions review will be made until all official transcript(s) are received.
Sending Transcripts to CSUB
When submitting your transcripts and other official documents for your application, please use one of these options listed below. Transcripts received by California State University, Bakersfield Office of Admissions become property of the university and cannot be returned.
CSU Bakersfield will accept official transcripts via the following:

Emailed if your institution provides certified electronic transcripts through another
service, transcripts can be sent directly from the institution to the Office of Undergraduate

Foreign Coursework
