Ready to become a Roadrunner? If you’re finishing high school or recently earned your high school equivalency—and haven’t enrolled in college yet—you may be eligible to apply as a first-time freshman at California State University, Bakersfield.
You’re eligible to apply if:
- You’re currently enrolled in high school
- You’ve completed a high school equivalency program such as the General Education Development program (GED), High School Equivalency (HiSET), or Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC) exams
- You may have taken college courses while in high school (e.g., dual enrollment), or during the summer right after graduation, but you have not enrolled in a regular term (fall or spring) at a college or university after graduating

Application Timelines
FALL 2027 APPLICATIONS - NOW OPEN
Admission processing for first-time freshmen:
- Early Access: Get a head start on your Fall 2027 application beginning August 1! Complete available sections now and submit your application beginning October 1.
- Application filing period: CSUB admissions application for non-impacted programs is open via Cal State Apply from October 1 - November 30.
- Initial transcripts: Initial transcripts are due by February 1.
- Intent to enroll: All students intending to enroll at CSUB must submit the non-refundable $100 deposit or fee waiver by April 30.
- Final transcripts: Final transcripts with Spring 2027 grades, graduation date, or degree posted due by July 1.

SPRING 2027 APPLICATIONS- NOW OPEN
Admission processing for first-time freshmen:
- Application filing period: CSUB admissions application for non-impacted programs is open from July 1 - August 31.
- Initial transcripts: Initial transcripts with the 7th semester grades or spring 2026 semester grades are due by September 25.
- Intent to enroll: All students intending to enroll at CSUB must submit the non-refundable $100 deposit or fee waiver by October 30.
- Final transcripts: Final transcripts with Fall 2026 grades, graduation date, or degree posted due by January 5.
