Math Placement Status
CSUB considers multiple assessments to determine what Math course a student will take in the Fall. Based on academic achievement, the appropriate Category will determine a student's next steps.
CATEGORY I (All Majors)
 A score of 3 or above on the College Board AP Calculus AB or Calculus BC test
 A score of 3 or above on the College Board AP Statistics test
 A score of 4 or above on the International Baccalaureate (IB) mathematics HL test
 Completion of a college course (grade "C" or better) that satisfies the CSU General Education mathematics/Quantitative Reasoning requirement
