Mariachia Arcoiris de Los Angeles Performance
When: 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Where: Student Union Park (Outside)
Description: Led by director Carlos Samaniego, Mariachi Arcoiris de Los Angeles, the world's first LGBTQIA+ Mariachi, will be performing a beautiful repertoire reflecting their LGBTQ identities & the highest level of mariachi musicality. This event is in celebration of both OUTober and Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month.
We had a lot of support from several entities across campus to make this event happen. A special thank you to the President's Office, Campus Programming, the Kegley Institute of Ethics, the HEAL Taskforce, the Office of Equity, Inclusion and Compliance, and many others for your support of this event!

Description: The second annual Kern High School District's LGBTQIA+ students & staff visit to CSUB will be led by Darius Riggins' office. Say hi to our Kern County high school students if you see them on campus.

KIE Faculty Colloquium: Queer and/or Transgender Pacific Islander (QTPI) Experiences with Dr. Jeremiah Sataraka

Description: QTPI stands for Queer and/or Transgender Pacific Islanders and Dr. Sataraka (Ethnic Studies) will share about his oral history project of QTPIs.

Volleyball Game PRIDE Night and Tabling Resource Fair
When: Tabling at 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm and Volleyball game at 7:00 pm
Where: Icardo Center
Description: Come cheer on the CSUB volleyball team during PRIDE night as they face off against Long Beach State. Guests will be able to purchase a special PRIDE T-shirt. OUTober award recipients Elise Sotello & Rita Scanlan will be honored. At the Tabling Fair, fans will have the opportunity to engage with community members to learn more about LGTBQ+ resources and services.

Dating Violence in the LGBTQ+ Community: Cultivating Healthy Relationships, free of Violence
When: 12:00-1:00 pm
Where: Runner Café - Stockdale Room
Description: In honor of National Coming Out Day, learn how to raise awareness and become an ally for the LGBTQ+ community. The discussion will be around barriers LGBTQ+ members face when facing domestic violence and sexual assault.

Description: Join Lynna Ha as they read out loud, "Growing up Trans: In Our Own Words" by Dr. Lindsay Herriot and Kate Fry. Lynna Ha is a queer educator of color that serves the Kern High School District. They earned their degree from CSU Bakersfield while also serving as President of the LGBTQ+ Network Club. Additionally, they served as a Youth Council member at The Center for Sexuality & Gender Diversity. Currently, Teacher Ha is a first-year biology teacher creating a safe learning environment that allows students to thrive as their authentic selves.

Bi+ Braveheart: The Highs and Lows of Coming Out to Self and Others for Bisexual, Pansexual, and Fluid Individuals with Dr. Mimi Hoang
When: 6:00 pm
Where: Doré Theatre
Description: Dr. Mimi Hoang (she/her) is an internationally-recognized psychologist, educator, author, and grassroots activist specializing in the LGBTQ+ and Asian Pacific Islander (API) communities who will be presenting on the highs and lows of coming out to self and others for bisexual, pansexual, and fluid individuals. Reception to follow in the Albertson Room.
