 Understanding the ideologies, values and decision-making processes within both U.S. and foreign governments is an integral part of the study of Political Science. CSUB's Political Science Department accomplishes two major goals: first, to provide valuable information needed to think critically, write coherently, and identify salient issues so students can function as effective, productive citizens. Second, for those individuals seeking a baccalaureate degree or a minor, our Department's goal is to educate and develop students so they may gain a comprehensive understanding of contemporary systems and institutions and proficiency in social research -- a necessary tool for the political scientist.
