November 1, 2012 - It was announced today that CSU Bakersfield will not renew the lease for the Lancaster University Center (LUC) located in Antelope Valley. With sensitivity to current budget challenges, and a need for the most efficient utilization of all existing classroom space, classes for students at the Lancaster University Center location will be consolidated to the CSUB-AV classrooms on the Antelope Valley Regional Center campus.
This transition will affect about 8 courses held at the LUC location beginning with select courses this winter quarter, with full completion by the end of spring quarter.
"The CSUB-AV site hosts a full spectrum of student services spread over five CSUB buildings designed to support student success, convenience and give a better sense of the university experience," said Dr. Craig Kelsey, Dean Extended University Division. He continued, "CSUB has been a higher education partner in Antelope Valley since 1991. Our commitment to this community is reflected in this move which is strategically designed to better serve the current and future student body right here in Antelope Valley."
CSUB-Antelope Valley Regional Center provides the 3rd and 4th year degree completion requirements for the bachelor's degree in Business, Child, Adolescent and Family Studies, Communications, Criminal Justice, Liberal Studies and also Sociology. CSUB also offers the RN to BSN on-line program. Teacher credential programs in Multiple-Subject, Single-Subject, Special Education and MBA programs are also available.
