April 29, 2011 — Bakersfield's brainiest teams, step up. CSUB will once again host the "Brains of Bakersfield" trivia contest, now in its sixth year, at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 21, in the Icardo Center.

If you've played Trivia Night at Sandrini's, you know the drill. If not, give it a try! Based on the popular trivia game "Quiz Game" that originated in British pubs, CSUB's contest features teams gathered around tables answering tough questions in a timed and fast-paced setting. Questions cover a variety of topics like sports, entertainment, history, science and more.

Loosen the brain up with cocktails starting at 6:30 p.m., with play commencing at 7 p.m. Dinner will be provided during the event courtesy of Frugatti's Italian Eatery.

Entry fee is $300 per team, with a maximum of 10 people on a team. Winners receive a trophy and bragging rights as the "Brainy Bunch."

The event is a fundraiser for CSUB Roadrunner Soccer. Deadline to register is May 14. To register or for more information, call Simon Tobin at 661-654-2428 or e-mail stobin@csub.edu. Checks payable to CSUB Soccer to Men's Soccer, 9001 Stockdale Highway, Bakersfield, CA 93311.
