California Writers Series hosts Suzanne Greenberg

Sept. 16, 2010 - Writer Suzanne Greenberg will be reading for the California Writers Series at CSUB on Thursday, Sept. 23 at 7 p.m., in the multipurpose room of the Student Union.

A professor of creative writing at CSU Long Beach, Greenberg is the author of "Speed-Walk and Other Stories" and "Everyday Creative Writing: Panning for Gold in the Kitchen Sink." She has also co-authored chapter books for 3-5th graders, "Abigail Iris: The Pet Project" and "Abigail Iris: The One and Only."

The reading is free and open to the public, and will be followed by a discussion with the author and a book sale and signing, sponsored by Russo's Books. Parking at CSUB is $2.

The California Writers Series, begun in 2006, is sponsored by the Walter Stiern Library, Associated Students, Inc., the CSUB English Department and Sigma Tau Delta, the English Honors Society. Previous readers have included Kay Ryan (currently U.S. Poet Laureate), Wanda Coleman, Joe Wenderoth, Susana Chavez-Silverman, Pam Houston, Ngugi wa Thiong'o, Brian Turner, Aimee Phan, Frank Bidart, and Alex Espinoza.
