July 13, 2009 - Now through Friday, Aug. 14, the California State University, Bakersfield Alumni Association is accepting nominations for induction into the Alumni Hall of Fame. The intent of the honor is to recognize alumni who have made significant contributions in their chosen field and their community, and whose accomplishments have brought honor and distinction to the university.

"The Hall of Fame is a chance to honor alumni who show integrity, stature and reflect honor on CSUB," explained Shannon Hill, director of alumni relations. "We have more than 32,000 alumni and I am sure there are many who deserve this honor."

An Alumni Selection Committee, appointed by CSUB President Horace Mitchell and the Alumni Association president, will review the nominations using a point system to score each nominee. Between one and five nominees will be selected and honored at the formal Alumni Hall of Fame dinner held in February.
