June 10, 2009 - Pat Jacobs, California State University, Bakersfield assistant vice president for facilities management, was one of 15 people awarded a 2009 Kresge Fellowship from the non-profit group Second Nature. Jacobs, who also serves as co-chair of the President's Sustainability Committee, was awarded a fellowship of up to $2,000 for travel, lodging and registration expenses incurred for attending one of six noteworthy "green building" conferences. The goal of the fellowship is to educate university executives and give them the skills and technical information needed to become effective champions for green building at their own campuses.
