May 22, 2009 - University Police recently awarded commendations to Cpl. Carla Johns and officer Maricela Anglin for lifesaving actions while on duty. In separate incidents, both officers acted quickly to provide medical attention. Their commendation stated, "Your commitment to excellence, professionalism, and your ability to adapt to the situation presented to you, helps create a synergy that ensures that the campus community can continue to thrive in a safe environment."

The commendations were presented on campus by Police Chief Claudia Neal and Vice President Mike Neal.
