CSUB Mexica Tiahui

Welcome students and friends!

How to get involved- There are two ways to get involved with Mexica Tiahui: one is to sign up for the class, and the other is to be a member of the club. If you have little or no dancing ability, you can still be part of the CSUB Mexica Tiahui Ballet Folklórico. If you have some or little experience with fundraising, creating conferences and doing fun activities, then you can participate. Come by or call the STAAR Program at (661) 664-2281 for more information.

Mission Statement

Mexica Tiahui Ballet Folklórico is a non-profit organization at California State University, Bakersfield, whose primary goal is to preserve the history, art and culture of Mexico. Mexica Tiahui promotes cultural diversity through the art of Mexican folk dancing. Performances are given throughout Bakersfield and the outlying areas. Such performances are given to elementary, middle and high schools and community centers throughout Kern County.

These presentations allow children and adults to enjoy the richness of the Mexican culture through traditional dance. It is our hope to entertain, enlighten and share with the general public the traditions of old Mexico.
