For Maps & Timetables of the GET buses click below:
- Get serves the Greater Bakersfield area with 81 compressed natural gas buses serving 18 fixed routes. Recently GET expanded its GET-A-Lift, curb to curb service from 14 buses to 19 buses.
- We encourage you to ride with your bicycle. All GET buses are equipped with bike racks. When you enter the bus, the driver will give you a bicycle reminder card. Be sure to give it back to the driver when you get off the bus. This tells the driver to wait while you unload your bike.
- Regular weekday schedule is maintained on President's Day, Columbus Day and Veteran's Day.
Saturday schedule is operated on Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day.
There is no bus service on New Year's Day, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
- Carpool participants save money by sharing the cost of driving one car. Driving one car saves on gasoline, tolls, parking and vehicle maintenance.
- Carpools reduce pollution and carbon dioxide emissions thereby reducing global warming.
- Carpools reduces driving-related stress for participants who are not driving on a specific ride. The participants take turns sharing their vehicles and driving with others.
- Carpools may provide social connections in an increasingly disconnected society. New online carpooling services are offering new ways to make social connections through discussion sites and custom ridesharing services.
- Everyday bicycling can be for everyone. It is not merely for recreation, for children, and for those who cannot afford cars. Bakersfield’s generally temperate climate and level topography, as well as a consistently improving network of arterial bike lanes and paths, all help to make Bakersfield an ideal city for cycling.
- Education is a key component to creating a cycling culture. Cycling education includes; safety, legal, and practical issues pertaining to bicycling as a primary means of transportation for both children and adults.
- Bicycling is a healthy, environmentally friendly, economical, safe, and fun means of transportation. It prevents traffic congestion and carbon emissions, improves health, and saves money for those who choose to cycle; it also saves money for society as a whole in roadway infrastructure, and health-care related costs.
