CSO I Qualifications

CSO1

  • Candidate must be able to think under pressure
  • Must be able to make decisions with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to react positively when confronted with negative perceptions about law enforcement activities
  • Must be able to operate computer equipment
  • Must have a valid California Driver’s License
  • Personal History Questionnaire
  • Criminal history check (Live Scan); no felony convictions
  • Department of Motor Vehicle’s record check
  • Reference Checks
CSO II Qualifications
CSO2
  • Candidate must have at least 10 weeks of satisfactory performance at the level of CSO I
  • Exceptions may be made for candidates that have previous dispatch experience
CSO III Qualifications

  • Candidate must have at least six months of continuous service with the police department, and maintaining at least 60 hours per month.
  • The candidate must have exhibited above standard job performance as demonstrated in letter(s) of reference by department personnel or by the receipt of a commendation by department customer(s)
  • The candidate must have exhibited exceptional leadership ability as demonstrated by the recommendation by a department supervisor.
  • To apply, submit a completed application form, resume, and least one letter of recommendation from a fulltime staff member. Completion of an essay is also required.
