CSUB RESIDENTIAL LIFE HOUSING ALCOHOL POLICY
Alcohol policy concerning underage drinking in the residence halls.
FIRST OFFENSE:
Discussion with the student concerning their drinking and resultant behavior. Reinforce state law and the fact that the Housing staff will not ignore this problem. The meeting will result in a letter to the student concerning what was discussed with a copy placed in the student´s Housing file.
SECOND OFFENSE:
Discussion with the student concerns their continued behavior. A campus police officer will be present to explain the legal ramifications of underage drinking. Explain possible consequences if they continue this behavior. Consequences could include the contacting of parents, referral to counseling center or removal from the residence halls. The student will be placed on probation for the remainder of the academic year. A copy of the probation letter will be placed in their file.
THIRD OFFENSE:
The student´s parents will be contacted at this time. Depending upon the severity of the situation the student will either be required to go to counseling as a condition of residency or be removed from the residence halls. If removed from the residence halls the appeal is to the Assistant Vice President for Student Life.
FOURTH OFFENSE:
The student will be removed from the residence halls. Student appeal is to the Assistant Vice President for Student Life.
