To All Faculty and Staff:
If you must miss a class for any reason, Don't Cancel That Class! Instead, the CSUB Alcohol and Drug Education Committee can provide a guest speaker or presenter to cover your class!
We have fun and exciting, interactive presentations that last 30, 60 or 90 minutes. These include the following:
- Alcohol Jeopardy-Interactive Educational Program
- Alcohol and Tobacco in Advertising and the Media
- Up in Smoke: Tobacco presentation
- Party Smart: Being a Responsible Party Host
- Facts on Tap: Alcohol and Your College Experience
- Smart Choices: Interactive journaling program
- How Impaired are you?: an interactive demonstration of the effects alcohol has on motor skills.
These presentations are educational, interactive, and encourage students to critically examine their assumptions, values, attitudes, and present knowledge about alcohol. This is an excellent way to provide CSUB students with important information about alcohol and responsible choices and to inform them about the wide range of services available from the Alcohol and Drug Education Committee.
There are a variety of topics from which to choose. In many cases, the presentations can be tailored to fit the subject matter of the course. (For example, in a communications class, an alcohol presentation can focus on social norm programming, and in a business class, an alcohol presentation can focus on alcohol and the laws about hosting parties, drinking and driving, and providing alcohol to minors).
