Outstanding Research Papers

Contest Rules

 

Outstanding Graduate Research Paper – All Academic Disciplines

●      1st Place - $250           

●     2nd Place - $150                       

●     3rd Place - $100

  • Application must be filled out completely to be considered for an award.
  • Submissions must have been written for a Graduate class in any discipline at CSUB and CSUB-AV.
  • Faculty signature, verifying that the research paper was written for a CSUB or CSUB-AV course, is required.
  • Each submissions should be between 7 and 20 typed pages in length (between 2,100 and 6,000 words), double-spaced with normal margins, paginated, and printed in a standard font (Times New Roman 12 point) on white paper.
  • Submissions must observe proper citation conventions (e.g.,  MLA, APA, Chicago Manual of Style, etc.).
  • Plagiarism will automatically disqualify submission.
  • Submissions should include a completed application, plus three hard copies of the work. Each of these three copies must have a unique title, but should contain no other identifying information such as author’s name, instructor’s name or class written for.
  • Entries must have been written during the 2007 calendar year (Winter 2007, Spring 2007, Summer 2007, or Winter 2007).
  • Awards will be presented at the Annual Sigma Tau Delta Induction and Awards Ceremony on May 9, 2008.
  • There is no limit to the number of submissions allowed.
