Application Requirements

A separate application packet is required for each position. The correct JOB TITLE and JOB NUMBER must appear on the application. Photocopied applications (with specific Job Title/Number) should be used for more than one position. Resumes are welcome, but will not be accepted in place of the Official Application Form. All positions requiring typing or shorthand require current (within 2 years) certification of speed and accuracy. A copy of this certification should be attached to the application packet. Information regarding locations and times of testing locally available can be obtained by contacting the Human Resources Office. The Office of Human Resources does not provide photocopying services.

Official California State University, Bakersfield application forms must be completed in full and received in the CSUB Personnel Office by 5:00 p.m. on, or postmarked by, the specified closing date (filing deadline date) unless otherwise indicated. E-mailed applications or resumes will not be accepted. The "filing deadline date" is the final date for accepting applications. No applications are reviewed until the closing date is passed. Finalists are notified within two to four weeks of the closing date, all others within four to six weeks. Information about individual applications cannot be provided during recruitment.

Federal law requires proof of identity and work eligibility before an applicant can be employed in the United States. Prospective employees must be able to provide an original document or documents which establish identity and employment eligibility within 3 business days of the date employment begins. You will be provided with a list of acceptable documents at the time of employment. In addition, the State requires that all employees present a valid Social Security card in order to receive a paycheck. The name on the card must match exactly the name the employee is using.
