DATA window: A spreadsheet-like window
that allows you to enter your data as an SPSS worksheet. This is the first
window you will see when you run SPSS. There are two views in the Data Editor
Window:
Data View: It displays the data values. Each variable is a column. Each
row is a case. |
|
Variable View: It displays a table consisting of variable names and their
attributes. You can modify the properties of each variable or add new or
delete existing variables in the Variable View Window. |
OUTPUT Viewer window: A
window that holds all of the results from performing
any analysis. This will show as a result of your first
analysis.
SYNTAX window: A window that allows you to
create an SPSS program. This will show when you create an
SPSS program file.
CHART window: A window that displays
graphs which can be edited. This will show when you want to edit or create a
graph.
In
this clip, you will learn how to enter your own data into SPSS, how to open an
SPSS data file, how to use the frequency procedure, and how to use the crosstab
procedure. You will also get a brief look at 4 commonly used windows; the data
editor window, the output window, the chart editor window, and the syntax
window.
