How do I access my VoIP voice portal from off campus?

  • Call 661-654-2933 

  • Enter mailbox ID (your campus extension) followed by "#" 

  • Enter your voicemail passcode followed by "#" 


Do I have to record greetings for no answer, busy, and extended away?

  • No, you don't have to record greetings for no answer and busy. You can use the system greeting for no answer and busy. The Extended Away greeting lets your callers know that you are not in the office or on-campus. As such, it is recommended that you record an extended away greeting when you will be out of the office for over 24 hours.


How do I access my voicemail when I am away from my office?

To access your voicemail from out of the office, 

  1. Dial 661-654-2933
  2.  Press * 
  3. Enter your mailbox number (your extension)
  4.  Enter your passcode


How do I delete all of my voicemail messages from my phone?

  1. Log into your voicemail.
  2. Press 1.  
  3. Press 7 to delete all of your voicemail messages (both new and saved). 
  4. Press 1 to confirm the deletion of all your voicemail messages - OR - press * to cancel.


What do I do if I'm locked out of my voicemail?

  • If you enter your passcode incorrectly more than 5 times, the voicemail system will lock you out of your mailbox. To correct the problem, please contact the HelpDesk at 661-654-HELP (4357).


Why will my voicemail not let me change my passcode?

  • The VoIP voicemail system requires a passcode that is at least 6 digits. These six digits cannot contain repeating numbers, such as 000000 or 111111.


How do I record an away message?

  • The VoIP Voicemail system refers to the away message as your extended away greeting. This greeting is what the callers hear when you are on vacation, away on business, or any other reason that keeps you from your desk.

To record your extended away greeting 

  1. Press 4 to record your extended away greeting

  2. Begin recording at the tone 

  3. While recording, press one of the following: 

    • #— End recording 

    • 3—Record new greeting 

    • 1 — Activate the new greeting 

    • 4— Play current greeting 


How can I hear the date and timestamp of a voicemail message?

  • Press 5 while listening to a message and the time and date stamp will be played.


I have multiple lines on my phone, how do I check the messages on the other extensions?

On Campus

  1. Dial 2933, followed by *, you will be prompted for your mailbox ID (i.e., voicemail box number) 

  2. Press #.

  3. Enter your password and press #

  4. Play your messages as you normally would.

Off Campus

  1. Ddial(661) 654-2933you will be prompted for your mailbox ID (i.e., voicemail box number)

  2. Ppress #

  3. Enter your password and press #

  4. Play your messages as you normally would.


Can I receive voicemails via email?

  • Yes.
  • Depending on the service you have there may be an additional charge. Refer to the pricing page for additional details.


Will my voicemail messages be updated on my phone when I delete my voicemail messages in my email account?

  • You will need to have the service activated to receive voicemail messages via email for this to apply. 

  • Voicemailmessages on your phone and in your email are treated separately. If you delete a voicemail message on your phone it will not delete the email message and voicemail messages deleted in your email will not remove the voicemail messages from your phone.


How do I turn on/off the service to receive voicemail messages via email?

Have your Department Telecom Consultant (DTC) contact the Help Desk to request the additional service. The DTC will need to provide your extension number and a chargeback code.


How do I send my phone calls straight to voicemail?

You have two options.

Option 1: 

  • Select "call Fwd" on your phone.
  • Under "All" type in "2933" (Extension for voicemail) and press the down arrow on your directional pad.
  • Press the center button in the directional pad to check the box under On.
  • Press the save button to save the changes.
  • Individuals will be told that you are not available when they call.
  • Go back into "call fwd" and uncheck the box to turn off the service.

Option 2:

  • Press the "DND" (Do Not Disturb) button on the phone.
  • Individuals will be told that you are busy when they call.
  • Press "DND" to turn off the feature.
