About the Faculty TLC
The Faculty Teaching and Learning Center was established in Fall 1996 with the mission of enhancing teaching and learning at CSUB. We provide assistance and resources to support faculty in reaching their professional goals and in helping them to create an effective learning environment for our students.
We provide a variety of programs and resources. We focus our efforts assisting faculty in teaching and learning, tenure preparation, leadership development, the application of technology to teaching and balancing their work in their daily lives.
Spring Workshops are here!
Join us weekly to explore a variety of topics to help your online classes thrive!
Whether you’re looking to level up for your learners…
Or you’re saying, “Bon voyage” to Blackboard…
We have something for everybody!
Check out the flyer for dates, times, topics, and Zoom links to register.
Blackboard's Last Term: Spring 2021
The FTLC would like to encourage all faculty to review their courses in Blackboard. If you have courses that you actively each that are in Blackboard, but not Canvas, you will want to follow these steps to migrate those courses to Canvas today.
Here are some steps you can take to prepare for Blackboard's last term at CSUB:
- Check for "Migrated" courses in Canvas ITS has already provided. Go to your Canvas page and check Courses, then click All Courses. You will find all Canvas courses you have there.
- Follow this instruction video on How to Copy a Blackboard course to Canvas or use this PDF handout.
- Think about courses you do not teach often; those courses are most likely to be missed!
Also, if you need to save your Blackboard course grade center, please do so. You may use this handout as instructions to Download your Blackboard Grade Center for a course. This process is particularly important for courses with students file as "incomplete" or settling disputes.
Please continue to prepare for the transition to Canvas throughout this semester!
